The Republic of Kazakhstan is a unified state with a presidential government. The head of state is the president and Nursultan Nazarbayev occupies this position. Kazakhstan has a unified form of state government and it includes the legislature, which is carried out by Parliament, executive power in the form of the Government, which consists of central structures such as ministries, departments and agencies as well as local government or akimats. The third branch of the state power is the judicial authority provided by national courts, which are divided into the Supreme Court and local courts. People are the single source of state power of the country. The fundamental principles of the activity of the Republic lies in public harmony, political stability, economic development for the benefit of the people, patriotism and solving the most important national issues by means of democratic methods, including voting in Republic-level referendums or in Parliament. State property and private property are declared equal in rights and are defended equally in the Republic of Kazakhstan. |
