In his Ak Orda residency in Astana, Nursultan Nazarbayev played host to the Kazakh Senate Speaker. Kairat Mami informed the President on the preparations for the Fourth Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which is scheduled for May 30-31, and reported on the recent meeting of the Working Group of the Secretariat of the Congress. The head of state emphasised that the world had changed since the third Congress, which should be considered by its future participants, who would make recommendations in advance of a new intercultural and interfaith dialogue. During the meeting, the Senate Speaker also told the President about the current and future issues of the Senate’s legislative activity, the preparations for the winter session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Vienna and the forthcoming participation in the third G-20 Speakers' Consultation Meeting to be held in Riyadh. Also on Monday, the Kazakh President welcomed former British Prime Minister Tony Blair to his Ak Orda residence. Mr. Blair informed Nursultan Nazarbayev on the results of work done by the expert group. During the meeting the sides also discussed some topical issues of the international agenda.
