Kazakhstan’s grain export potential increases
Kazakhstan has increased its grain export potential. Over the past three months, the country has shipped more than three and a half million tonnes of wheat and flour. Over one year, Kazakhstan plans to export 15 million tonnes of grain. The Ministry of Agriculture proposed purchasing new railway cargo cars as a solution to the shortage of the required number of grain carriages. This proposal is now being coordinated with the Kazakhstan Railways National Company.
Assylzhan Mamytbekov, Kazakh Minister of Agriculture
An increase in acreage, building new silos, as well as retooling in processing are all among the tasks set for the Ministry. Food and the stabilisation funds are to receive support at all levels. Particular attention will also be paid to the introduction of new technologies in agriculture.
