Metallurgists of the East Kazakhstan region have condemned the actions of hooligans in the towns of Zhanaozen and Shetpe. About 30 thousand people joined rallies across the region. KazZinc employees criticized the actions of hooligans and looters who misconducted during the celebrations and in the towns of Zhanaozen and Shetpe. Criminals made the most of a trade dispute. Local unions also made a mistake as they could not provide timely elaboration for the oil workers to explain reasonable means of defending their rights. A rally in support of the policy of the President took place at the Ulba Metallurgical Plant.

- We strongly condemn these actions. Peace, unity and harmony - these are the fundamental values thanks to which our Kazakhstan is rapidly developing and we have to take care of those values. As a lawyer and a trade union employee, I clearly understand that any employment disputes and any conflicts should be resolved within legal frameworks, which is written in Article 24 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

- It is particularly sad to see what happened during the celebrations of Kazakhstan’s Independence, when they were summing up the results of the path passed. Kazakhstan has achieved great success in everything as its economy is developing, factories are operating, and people receive their wages, pensions and social security benefits in time. Unfortunately, there were people who wanted to turn it all upside down. Unity, peace, harmony and solidarity are the directions, which we must follow to make Kazakhstan go further on.
