Situation on Kazakhstan loan market
The National Bank has noted that the strengthening of competition between banks has favoured the launch of new loan programmes directed toward such categories as young families, civil servants, pensioners and students.

According to the State of affairs and forecasts of credit market research of the National Bank, Kazakhstan banks have started to give loans to corporate clients, whose conditions may compete on the attractiveness of state loans. The research states that banks with foreign participation which benefit from receiving modern technologies in the area of computer aid and reengineering of business processes from parental banks, influence the increase in competition. Banks with foreign participation also benefit from access to cheaper sources of funding. The National Bank noted that it results in a load on the decrease in prices for credit tools on the Kazakhstan market. Participants of the research expect further growth in the banking sector competition in the first quarter of 2012, which will favour a further decrease in interest rates and improvements in conditions of lending in the terms and amounts of these loans. Respondents also expect a growth in demand for loan resources from borrowers. The research reports that 60% of banks expect an increase in demand while 40% believe it will remain the same.
