Kazakhstan plans to invest 700 million US dollars into the construction of a new power line
It is assumed that the project will be financed by means of borrowed money as well as funds of the national budget.
The head of the KEGOK Company, Bakhytzhan Kazhiyev has announced to the Novosti-Kazakhstan information agency that Kazakhstan will invest about 700 million US dollars into the construction of the East transit power line. It is assumed that the power line will begin from such northern energy sources as Ekibastuz, through Semei to Ust-Kamenogorsk and then to Taldykorgan and Almaty. This power line will tackle such issues as the development of the mining industry in the Aktogai district, the development of the transport infrastructure and the energy supply of the railways. The total length of the power line will equal almost 1.5 thousand kilometers and the project is estimated at 700 million US dollars.
