Kazakhstan-EU turnover increased by 32% in 2011
During the period from 1993 to 2011 the gross inflow of direct investment from the EU countries into Kazakhstan’s economy reached 65.7 billion US dollars out of a total amount of raised investment standing at 137 billion US dollars.

Foreign trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the European Union reached 50 billion US dollars in 2011 or 32% higher than in 2010, the republic’s Foreign Ministry reported. The European Union remains Kazakhstan’s largest economic partner. The EU accounts for half of Kazakhstan’s foreign trade and more than a third of foreign investments in Kazakhstan’s economy. A substantial increase in bilateral trade was promoted by a three-year implementation of the «Way to Europe» government program. Currently, Kazakhstan and the EU are jointly working on a new agreement on in-depth partnership and cooperation to cover the entire spectrum of political, economic and humanitarian relations.
